Annual Founders' Service held at The Lord Mayor's Chapel

On Sunday 18th February, 2024 we celebrated our enlightened '1904' forefathers who founded our BRISTOL 1904 ARTS Club, all those years ago, with an annual Church Service held at the Bristol Lord Mayor's Chapel starting at 3:15pm followed by a smashing English "Afternoon Cream Tea" party in our Performance Hall around 4pm.

We were honoured to have the Lord Mayor, Councillor Paul Goggin himself attend as well as His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant Mrs. Peaches Golding OBE CStJ and we were very pleased that both also kindly extended themselves to join us afterwards for an afternoon tea in our Performance Hall, that you see above.

The service itself was again this year conducted by the Rev. Richard Pendlebury MBE DL and attended mostly by members and their family.  At the service we took up a collection, that I'm pleased to report was over £500, for the charity the Rev. Pendlebury, is most passionate about - the Room 13 Art Project - a school based, Art Studio dedicated to the pupils of Hareclive School in Hartcliffe helping disadvantaged kids to develop aspiration, confidence and self esteem in a safe space and that also encourages creativity, independent thinking and learning; both strengthening curriculum learning and teaching these little ones about working in teams and other life skills.  Very important goals, I'm sure you will agree!!

The service was all about giving thanks to our forefathers for establishing our club and seeking a blessing to be always able to continue to foster the skills and crafts of Art and Performance Art in the future, in an atmosphere of friendship and respect.

And we look to continue this service annually ... so until next year !!
