BLUE FEATHER (Performing Artists)

The BLUE FEATHERS are the body of members who provide the core of Entertainments to primarily the membership on our Wednesday evening meetings,  formal evenings and dinner occasions but also increasingly to more diverse guest evenings.

Entertainment comprises single performers such as instrumentalists or magicians or Poet/Raconteurs.  Alternatively very often singers accompanied on piano for example provide the entertainment or indeed singers accompanying themselves on piano, guitar or banjo might be the order of the day.  Also frequently entertainment is provided by small groups, either as singers or musicians or stringed quartets and many other combinations.

The genre of music varies from Classical, Choral, Songs from the Musicals, Jazz, Folk, own original material etc. and on any individual night a blend of several genres is presented.  We are open to introducing other styles to provide a more eclectic mix of entertainment as we move forward.

Currently we have about 30 Blue Feathers  who perform and we would like very much like to increase that number and particularly encourage women and younger (Male/Female) musicians/entertainers for Blue Feather Membership. 

Blue Feather  Membership is achieved directly on entry application by interview and peer audition by the existing Blue Feathers with three live performances, as a guest, at our Wigwam hall. 

As Bristol 1904 Arts  has ambitions to expand its reach as a high calibre entertainment and culture venue for its membership and the City of Bristol we look to open ourselves to a broader audience and an extended season.  We are therefore very keen to attract women and younger potential Blue Feather Members.

All the Blue Feathers are dedicated, friendly and supportive. They come from different and mixed musical and entertainment backgrounds which makes for an interesting, almost an extended family environment.
