Yes, it's about time and even overdue that I post some of our artists' work.

You might know that our BRISTOL 1904 ARTS Club has many facets to it.  Naturally the painting and even now sculptural art is one of the big features of our club ...  but also Performance Art and many Activity Groups feature highly.

On Wednesday nights during our (October to end April) season, the Artists who we call Red Feathers are set a task to complete a sketch painting generally within a limited 2 hour period.  The theme of the painting for the night is set by the evening's Chairman.

Last Wednesday (29th October, 2025) our Chairman set as his theme subject: "Ars est celare artem" which translates as:  It is Art to conceal Art.  And one of our cheeky artists, in his sketch above, poked some fun at France's recent embarrassing Art theft from the Louvre when the theme may well have had a specific message for The Louvre itself !!

The slide carousel above presents some of the painting sketches of the evening!

We hope you enjoy them and of course if you want to know more about us, contact our Secretary, Jonathan Bird or if you wish to explore membership contact our Membership Warden, Connor Williamson.
