Over nine days, 28th April to 7th May 2023, 436 people and one dog visited the 1st Photographic Exhibition organized by the Bristol 1904 Arts Society’s photographic group colloquially known as ‘The Snappers’.

The exhibition contained work of eleven photographers and consisted of 54x 10”x8” photographs, 6x 16”x12” photographs and a rolling slide show of a 50 further images. The photographs ranged from portraits, studio arranged images, land and seascapes, wildlife, cityscapes and others to give a broad range of subjects.

Visitors showed a lot of interest. They enquired as to where many of the differing images had been taken, how much post capture manipulation was involved, what sort of cameras where used, and some background information of the individual photographers. Unfortunately, nobody recorded what the dog thought of the photographs!



Following the very positive and supportive range of comments, made by so many of the exhibition’s visitors, Snappers plan that this will become an annual event.
